Courtesy of Warner Music Group Germany Holding GmbH. Maria is a solid musical biopic. An excellent lead performance by Angelina Jolie holds this film together nicely and I appreciate how much she put into this role, especially the operatic singing.
It is a beautifully shot and directed film
The plot is a little clunky and the pacing is a bit off, but I still think the film is entertaining enough to enjoy and educational about the period and opera in general. I loved the editing, the black and white footage is beautiful. I think this is a great film from Pablo Larraín with an Oscar-winning performance by Angelina Jolie.
